Master class 1 / A thousand and one scenes from Ile de France

Directed by Irene Golovine, director, actress and main speaker of A Thousand and One Scenes and Hamid Reza Javdan, director, actor and teacher who began his career in the Iranian Theater and in the United States at the Living Theater. Unrepentant traveler, he meets masters of different theatrical traditions: Commedia dell' Arte, Balinese mask and martial arts, Noh theater... He is also a mask professor at the Sorbonne University in Paris.

How to make the Tower of Babel coexist? Speak all languages, explore body language, discover the scope of rhythm, words and story.

An approach based on theater exercises and the use of masks to let ourselves be surprised by our imagination.

The construction of a character is done from a story, would it be possible that our own individual can also be transformed by the story that we cultivate? Could theater tools contribute to this transition?

Master class 2 / Fixin'art Thessaloniki Greece

Directed by Dionisis Zafiridis author, director and founder ANAZITITES THEATROU/FIX IN ART (Greece)

Fixin'art is a non-profit arts and cultural community seeking to enhance and promote artistic expression, as well as opportunities to protect education, inclusion, anti-oppression, non-violence, well-being and peace, while cultivating this community around its way of life.

“Scream”, work in progress proposed around a method to release tension, break down all walls, free oneself from imperatives and things to do.

Based on breathing and physical theater, Dionisis Zafiridis tries to guide the “Scream” to become an individual or team tool to approach the level of emptiness necessary to be able to embrace a role and make it real.

With or without the “Cry” this method becomes a tool for communicating to others and to oneself.

Master class 3 Théalingua Berlin

Directed by Damien Poinsard, founder of Théalingua (Berlin) an association which focuses its actions on the teaching of foreign languages through collective theatrical creation. This type of process, creative and collective, allows each participant to experience the position of commitment conferred by the system: commitment to a project, commitment to a group and commitment to free speech - in a language other than their own.

Finding a collective way out of conflict resolution

How to use the tools to reach an agreement. Concordance tools to arrive at a common solution.

Master class 4. ETFI Brussels

Led by Vladimir Bouchler, director, actor, coach, founder of the European Theater and Film Institute (research and education center in Brussels which was formed by a group of theater and cinema producers, like-minded researchers, educators, actors and directors in September 2017 with the aim of creating international research and teaching modules for theater and film, musical theater and opera Workshops. ETFI are built around three “multi” prefixes: Multicultural - Multilingual - Multidiscipline.

The master class is a transition from theatrical training through brilliant discoveries of 20th century psychology to the application of Fine Arts analysis, while creating a performance style.

Sunday November 20
The debates will be moderated in turn by our professional partners and friends in theater and professional training.

Dominique Loquin

More than thirty years of research and teaching on expression: body and mask.

After having taught in several countries in Europe and South America, he is today considered an essential teacher of neutral masks.

His human qualities, his exceptional gift of listening and his unfailing demands combined with a great sense of humor have structured attractive and very effective training courses. His two credo, pleasure and respect.

Dominique will introduce you to the neytre mask, the rules of its particular, universal language. In the style of a conference-workshop where you will have the opportunity, for those who wish, to test the language of the neutral mask through simple exercises.

Melanie Christensen

Graduated in educational psychology in her hometown of Seattle (United States) and trained in theater, mask and puppetry in France, Melanie Christensen has been leading numerous workshops for more than twenty years with very diverse populations: young children, people in situations of disability and autism, middle school students in ZEP, patients in geriatric hospitals, etc.

She is moving towards directing projects combining theater and music, collaborating with 'Dix Mois d'Ecole et d'Opéra' of the Opéra National - Bastille, with the Ensemble Duruflé, Les Talens Lyriques, and with the together De Plein Coeur and Vives Voix.

"All the world's a stage": how to facilitate the transition from the role of the student to that of the "actor" in working life through theater? I will share my experience of stage work as a tool for developing professional identity among engineering students.
